We currently have 14 accommodation spaces within three locations offering supported housing. Support is on hand when needed, however people are encouraged to do things for themselves and develop their skills.
We have plans to develop more supported housing. Please enquire at the SWALLOW office if you would like any further information.
We offer one to one support in people’s homes and in the community. This support can be for day to day living skills or to enable people to get out and about.
Courses and Day activities
SWALLOW offers a range of day activities to allow creativity and expression such as art and drama as well as teaching skills such as cookery and life skills.
For those committed to finding meaningful employment, we offer hands on work experience in our sessions based on crafts and horticulture and at the SWALLOW Community Cafe in Radstock.
Independent living skills training at Base House
At our training house, Base House, people come to stay one night a week in a group of three and are supported by SWALLOW staff.
Skills such as general household tasks, cooking, cleaning and shopping are gained as well as experiencing life outside the family home. Here we can enable people to assess their support needs for when they plan to move on to further independence.
Fitness and health
Our range of health and fitness activities includes football, swimming, walks and zumba. We are always keen to start new groups if there is interest. Please call to discuss.
We all love coming together socially. Once a month we organise Fun Club activities that are chosen by our members. We also hold evening clubs such as Ladies and Men’s nights and twice a week we have our very popular Boogie Nights dance sessions.
Youth Group 13+
The youth group meets after school on a Thursday for young people, that are 13+ to have fun and explore independence. It also enables links with the adult world to aid transition.
