Earlier this month, over 30 people came together to take part in a special walk along the Colliers Way, all in memory of the much-loved Sammie Millar.
Held on Wednesday 10th June, the walk brought together SWALLOW staff and members, alongside Sammie’s friends and family. It was a lovely way to remember Sammie and celebrate the positive impact she had on so many lives.
Sammie, who worked at SWALLOW, was incredibly valued by both members and colleagues. She will be remembered for her kindness, care, and cheerful nature. As her colleague Shelley shared, “Sammie was a fantastic person, so caring and kind. She was always cheerful and a great friend—we miss her so much.”
Thanks to everyone who took part and supported the event, over £2,000 has already been raised. The funds will go towards SWALLOW’s work supporting teenagers and adults with learning disabilities, as well as a donation to Dorothy House Hospice, where Sammie was cared for.
