Over 70 people came together on Thursday 22nd May at the Hive Café in Peasedown St John for this year’s SWALLOW AGM – and what a great turnout it was!

The AGM is always a key date in the SWALLOW calendar, helping ensure the continued smooth running of the organisation and offering a chance to reflect on achievements over the past year.

A special mention went to the café team, who provided superb bacon rolls for everyone, giving the morning a great start.

During the AGM, we heard about a recent project that SWALLOW has been running on behalf of BANES in collaboration with Open Story Tellers Frome. Through this project we have been consulting with people with learning disabilities and/or autism across Bath and North East Somerset. The aim is to help shape future plans and ensure services reflect what people want and need in the local area.

One of the highlights of the morning was the “Stars of SWALLOW” awards, which recognised staff for their dedication, hard work and commitment.

Bev Craney, SWALLOW’s Chief Executive, spoke about what makes SWALLOW so special – being a user-led charity that listens to its members and supports them to achieve their life goals. She also thanked all of the supporters who make this work possible, including Bath and North East Somerset Council, as well as individual, trust and corporate supporters.
